What is TEDx?
A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and performances are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common. Learn more about TEDx.
Why was TEDxNEOMED created?
Nupur Goel is a third year medical student who noticed a need for constructive discourse during her first days at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. Following the El Paso and Dayton shootings in August of 2019, Nupur searched for ways to make a change in her immediate community. As a three time National qualifier and State Champion of Oratorical speaking, Nupur has always understood the importance of the spoken word and its ability to change lives. As soon as she heard about the TEDx platform, she worked tirelessly to make her dream a reality. She hopes TEDxNEOMED brings an inclusive platform to the NEOMED community and inspires people to engage in discourse, share revolutionary ideas, and work together to make tomorrow better for all future generations.
